Truck Studio Brings Free Art Projects To Children In Milwaukee Parks, Summer 2002


MILWAUKEE, WI. Brightly painted trucks loaded with art supplies will provide free art projects to children ages 3 to 14 in eleven Milwaukee area parks during the summer of 2002. Professional artists and art educators as well as student interns and community volunteers will help children create kites, wind socks, prints, paintings, sculptures, fanciful hats, animal puppets, plaster masks, jewelry and other art projects from 1 to 4 p.m. on these dates in the following parks:

The projects are open to all children. Children may come on any or all of the days that the truck comes to their neighborhood park.

The Truck Studio is a project of Artists Working in Education, Inc., a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide youth in the Milwaukee area with arts enrichment programs to enhance human potential, advance learning and cultivate community.
The Truck Studio project is made possible in part by The Windhover Foundation, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern Wisconsin, Inc., Matrix Foundation, City of Milwaukee Arts Board, Wisconsin Arts Board, Forest County Potawatomi Community Foundation, Herbert H.
