Rising Artists Council

AWE’s Rising Artists Council provides high school students ages 14–18 with opportunities to deepen their artistic skills, explore Milwaukee’s arts community, and work alongside professional teaching artists. Through hands-on artmaking, mentorship, and creative exploration, teens develop their artistic voice while gaining experience and confidence as emerging artists. Each 10-week semester culminates in a public exhibition where participants share their work with family, friends, and the broader community.

Program Highlights:

• Hands-on artmaking and mentorship from professional artists

• Opportunities to explore techniques, materials, and personal artistic expression

• Connections to Milwaukee’s arts community

• Public exhibitions each semester to showcase student artwork

• Spring, summer, and fall sessions, with the flexibility to participate in one or multiple semesters

• Attendance- and participation-based stipends that recognize students’ time and commitment
